Mechanical Assembler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble and test build-to-print solutions, for surgical lasers and accessories, including final components, sub-assemblies, and packaging, along with other manufacturing duties.

  • Perform complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly operations in a manufacturing environment at a fast, but accurate pace.
  • Complete the assembly of simple components with little or no supervision.
  • Complete the assembly of complex components-with limited supervision.
  • Complete the fit, function and testing of assembled components-under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test assembled components-with limited supervision.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • High School diploma (AA preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions including the interpretation of engineering drawings and production documentation.
  • Hand soldering skills preferred.
  • Previous work experience in electro-mechanical assembly a plus

Marketing Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitates the efficient operations of the Customer Relations department by performing a variety of administrative tasks. This person will primarily be responsible for providing administrative support for the sales and marketing function.

  • Manage inbound sales calls and refer them to the Sales Managers. Record and track progress of sales calls referrals.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with the Sales Teams and Sales Managers to help coordinate sales leads and reach marketing and sales goals and objectives.
  • Manage the incoming leads from email blasts and other marketing strategies and campaigns. Manage marketing inbox and ensure that all emails/requests received are assigned and referred to the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage, distribute, and track leads from all sources including those supplied by sales representatives from courses/tradeshows.
  • Follow up on potential leads 6-12 months after initial contact. Develop a process for following up on leads and track sales conversions.
  • Send out marketing materials to customers. May assist with the creation of marketing materials.
  • Update and maintain records and automated tracking systems.
  • Assist with the creation of proposals, reports, presentations, and other sales documents.
  • Prepare and run reports, schedule meetings, make travel arrangements.
  • Answer and respond to customer sales needs and objectives.
  • May work on projects in coordination with the Director of Customer Relations. Keeps records of all information related to the project for documentation, clarification, and presentation to management.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • One to two years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, with the ability to learn new or updated software.

Materials Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Verify and keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments/orders.  Maintain and manage work order process, firming up, picking, and receiving parts. Maintain inventory.

  • Performs general shipping and receiving duties.
  • Performs incoming inspection of purchased items to ensure quantity received is correct and all items are complete and intact. Properly completes pack slip and receives the order in the computer and deliver to QA for final inspection.
  • Upon final inspection, returns parts to inventory.
  • Performs inventory count and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests; documents transactions according to established procedure.
  • Receives incoming assemblies into stock upon final inspection.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving
  • Use of CRM database
  • Use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Use of UPS/FEDEX online software

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager

The person in this position is in charge of global regulatory affairs, corporate quality management systems, and quality assurance activities and initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the QA/RA Manager is also responsible for advising and consulting with stakeholders about compliance with applicable FDA and ISO 13485:2016 regulations, Health Canada regulations, and other applicable standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization in the development, documentation, and implementation of policies and procedures that define, implement, and support the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that quality system requirements are effectively established and maintained in accordance with all applicable medical device regulations
  • Monitor the conformance of the ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management System and products to established requirements and provide periodic reports to management.
  • Lead in the root cause analysis of non-conformance, apply quality management principles and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with specifications. As needed, participate in the engineering change order process, by reviewing engineering and manufacturing document release and changes, as requested. Enhance customer satisfaction through reporting of quality status and facilitation of continuous improvement of company products and services.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability. Provide counsel, training, and interpretation of regulatory requirements to Company personnel.
  • Manage the coordination and preparation of regulatory submissions and product/marketing clearance/approval, ensuring they are prepared and submitted accurately, completely, and in a timely manner to meet and maintain business objectives.
  • Maintain FDA regulatory compliance including registrations, listings license amendments, 510(k) submissions, letters to file, labeling, UDI, and other requirements
  • Assist in ensuring compliance to Medical Device Regulations in Canada and Medical Device Directive/Regulation (MDD/MDR) in the EU.
  • Conduct and manage internal audits and provide guidance regarding best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Promote audit readiness, prepare quality and operations teams for audits by external bodies, and facilitate audits as needed
  • Oversee the execution of corrective action plans, tracking and verifying those deficiencies are corrected.
  • Maintain expert current knowledge of FDA, Health Canada, and other applicable foreign country regulations, legislation, best practices, and guidelines related to QA/RA, monitor changes to applicable laws and regulations, identify impact to the business, and in collaboration with other stakeholders, develop response strategies and/or a work plan and complete according to a deadline.
  • Oversee the maintenance of regulatory affairs files (e.g., establishment registrations and device listings, quality certificates, and device/facility licenses) and distribute information as required to support key stakeholders.
  • Assist in representing the Company before regulatory authorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive work experience in regulatory and quality systems in an FDA-regulated industry.
  • Three to five years of documented experience in preparing domestic FDA, EU, and Health Canada product submissions in a medical device Class II/ III environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of FDA, EU, and Canadian medical device regulations.
  • Experience with FDA/GMP requirements for medical devices.
  • Experience in Managing corporate Quality Systems per ISO 13485:2016.
  • At least 3-4 years of people management experience with a track record of building and leading high-performance teams.
  • Ability to work in a project team environment.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory submission requirements for FDA Class II medical devices, and equivalent classification requirements for international submission.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position oversees the QA team and supervises the following positions: Sr Quality Control Technician, Document Control Specialist, Receiving Inspector, and Quality/Complaint Specialist.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time onsite position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

Travel: up to 15% with occasional overnight and international may be required. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

We are seeking a confident, self-starter who can achieve laser sales goals by utilizing excellent capital surgical equipment sales skills and judgment, and in-depth knowledge of company products, services, policies, and procedures, selling in a clinical operating room environment.

  • Strategically promote and sell surgical carbon dioxide lasers to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Achieve and exceed sales revenue targets and grow market share for a specified territory.
