Bicuspid Modified Minimal Crown Lengthening – Richard B. Winter, DDS
Another example of Richard B. Winter’s, DDS, MAGD, DABOI/ID, DICOI, FAAID, FADI, FICO, DABLS, new technique ― modified minimal crown lengthening procedure (MMCL) ― performed on a bicuspid (#4) with a failed silver filling and extensive decay. Dr. Winter uses a LightScalpel CO2 laser during this procedure to remove soft tissue in and around the decayed tooth, and later to provide hemostasis prior to the root canal preparation. This technique has allowed Dr. Winter to preserve bone for future implant procedures without the risks associated with the unpredictable closed-flap crown lengthening.
