Earlobe Laser Scar Revision

The patient was presented with a ruptured earlobe. Traditionally, ruptured or split earlobe are treated through invasive surgery. However, there is a cutting-edge non-invasive and innovative alternative to treat this problem. Using the LightScalpel CO2 laser, Edward Zimmerman, MD, carefully ablated the affected areas of the skin. This triggers a natural healing response from the body to resurface the skin in the earlobe area as it generates cellular turnover, eventually achieving a reformed, intact, and beautiful earlobe. Several studies have shown that CO2 laser-irradiated areas, (compared to traditional methods) heal with less wound contraction and scarring due to the reduced amount of myofibroblasts at the surgical site.

Edward M. Zimmerman, MD specializes in cosmetic surgery and aesthetic wellness for the face, body, and skin in Las Vegas, NV. He is also the owner and director of Aesthetic Revolution Las Vegas (formerly Las Vegas Laser & Lipo), which offers a wide variety of surgical and nonsurgical procedures for men and women.
