CO2 Laser Frenuloplasty by Soroush Zaghi, MD
Soroush Zaghi, MD, uses his new Zaghi Handpiece* to perform a LightScalpel CO2 tongue-tie release (frenuloplasty). Dr. Zaghi of The Breathe Institute, together with Dr. Peter Vitruk, PhD, and LightScalpel’s laser engineers, designed this first in class side cutting laser beam handpiece which provides a 100% confinement of the hair-thin laser beam within the miniature tip.
As you watch the video, you will hear how the patient, who is a mother of a 5-month-old baby, realized she suffered from tongue-tie issues, after having discovered her baby was tongue-tied. The mother shares her symptoms associated with being tongue-tied, such as chronic neck and shoulder tension, sleep problems, speech issues, and chewing and swallowing difficulties.
Prior to and following the laser frenuloplasty, the patient underwent oral myofunctional therapy in order to achieve the optimal oral function.
