Gingivectomy for Crown Prep – Ben Sutter, DMD

Watch as Ben A. Sutter, DMD, FAGD, FICCMO, LVIF, DABLS, performs a LightScalpel CO2 laser gingivectomy prior to a crown prep. Dr. Sutter uses the LightScalpel laser to uncover the tooth fracture that extended below the gum line, expose sound tooth structure and allow a crown to be placed (gingivectomy and troughing). Dr. Sutter notes the absence of bleeding during the procedure. Benefits of LightScalpel CO2 laser oral surgery include less post-op swelling and discomfort, minimal bleeding, reduced scarring (in comparison with a scalpel), diminished risk of infection, shortened procedure time (compared to diodes), and smoother recovery.

Dr. Sutter delivers advanced dentistry for beautiful smiles and optimal oral health. He cares about his patients and invests the time and concern required to sustain lasting relationships. Dr. Sutter received a BA in psychology as well as a BS in biology from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He earned his DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he received numerous academic awards. While in New Jersey, he completed a one year, hospital-based residency at the Overlook Hospital in Summit. Learn more about Dr. Sutter at forbeautifulsmiles.com
