Laser tissue retraction for crown and bridge impressions

Cord packing has been traditionally used in fixed prosthetics for taking crown and bridge impressions. The CO₂ laser troughing is an efficient alternative to retraction cord. When used with proper settings and hand speed, laser ensures a conservative, clean, dry, and bloodless trough in which the impression material can flow for excellent impressions.
